Marking the turning point from winter to spring, this festival at Sumiyoshi Taisha on February 3, 2027 holds a ceremony welcoming the new spring and prays for the removal of calamity and the arrival of fortune. In the Shinden hall, the Tsuina Hoshashiki archery rite solemnly shoots arrows at a large target representing demons before many worshippers.
